Abstract: This mini-review has been written from the standpoint of the potential of lignocellulose bioconversion in meeting the ever-growing demands of the world for various products. The mini-review is divided into three sections - uses of cellulose, possible sources and submerged fermentation and global environmental perspectives; solid state fermentation-details and measurement protocols and; process parameters – submerged and solid-state fermentation (SSF).

Keywords: cellulases, solid-state fermentation, nutrients.
